Philip Spencer founded London DE in 2013. His vision was to build an ethical and sustainable business inspired by his love for gemstones and jewellery.
Since then, London DE has expanded internationally and built a trusted network of third-party delivery partners.
In 2020, we opened our Colombian subsidiary, London DE SAS, in the heart of the emerald district of Bogota. Having a presence in Bogata allows us to ensure we buy our stones and materials from the top of the supply chain and always know the exact source of our materials. This approach promotes transparency in our mine-to-market chain and cuts out any middlemen.
In January 2022, we opened our DMCC (Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre) office in the United Arab Emirates, giving us direct access to one of the fastest-growing luxury retail markets in the world.
Building on our unique relationships within the industry, we deliver gemstones and jewellery at a price well below that of traditional high-street retailers. We work exclusively with a small circle of trusted suppliers with whom we have long-standing relationships. Each piece we create is unique, hand-made and never replicated. In addition to our bespoke pieces, we offer a curated range of ready-to-wear jewellery.
We draw on our team's knowledge, skills and experience to engage with our customers in a professional and consultative manner. We are dedicated to delivering the highest standards of service and aftercare.
Ethics & Environment
We carefully monitor our entire supply chain and only work with partners with detailed policies relating to their supply chains. As proud members of the Responsible Jewellery Council and the National Association of Jewellers, we strive to ensure that we always operate ethically and respectfully.
Our offices are paperless, and we have taken steps to minimise our carbon footprint and journey distances by working with local businesses and workshops in London.
All of our finished products are crafted as close to source as possible. We operate a workshop in Bogota, Colombia, employing local craftspeople fairly and equitably.

The stones and jewellery pieces you see in shop windows have been passed down from tradesperson to tradesperson, resulting in an inflated sales price. This process also leaves you blind to whether your gemstones were sourced ethically and responsibly.
London DE works differently, providing a streamlined service which cuts out the middleman and ensures a transparent mine-to-market model. Through our wholly-owned subsidiary in Colombia, London DE SAS, we can ensure the ethical credentials of our supply chain and provide you with the lowest prices for the highest quality gemstones. We achieve this through our unique relationships high in the gem supply chain and our lean business model.
Our team sources stones and materials from our trusted partners. Once we purchase coloured gemstones from mine distribution centres, we craft them into beautiful, unique pieces in our Hatton Garden workshop. We export our finished pieces to local and worldwide markets.
We supply gemstones and jewellery to order, operating online, on the phone, and face-to-face without costly retail premises. Consequently, we can provide you with the best services for the most affordable price - without compromising quality.
